Ubisoft’s highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed Shadows has surfaced online ahead of its official launch, prompting the company to issue a statement addressing the situation. Originally set for release on March 20, the game has faced multiple delays, heightening excitement among fans.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Ubisoft acknowledged that some players had managed to “access” the game early. The company emphasized that the development team is still finalizing patches and that any leaked footage does not represent the final quality of the experience. Ubisoft also urged fans to avoid spoiling the game for others.

This latest installment of the Assassin’s Creed franchise is set in medieval Japan, a long-requested setting by fans. However, its development has been accompanied by challenges, including multiple release date shifts from November 2023 to February 2024, and now March. Earlier this month, Ubisoft reported a sharp revenue drop in Q3 2024, largely attributed to delays and underwhelming performance of recent releases.

With the official launch date now just weeks away, Ubisoft is racing to finalize the game and ensure a polished experience. Whether these leaks impact the game’s reception remains to be seen.
