Mojang has officially announced that Minecraft Live 2025 will take place on March 22 at 1:00 P.M. Eastern Time. The highly anticipated event will be streamed online, continuing the tradition of bringing exciting updates and announcements to the global Minecraft community.

A Brief History of Minecraft Live

Before Minecraft Live, Mojang hosted Minecon, an in-person fan event centered around the game’s community. However, since shifting to a fully virtual format in 2020, Minecraft Live has evolved into a major platform for showcasing upcoming game updates, introducing new features, and even revealing spin-off titles like Minecraft Dungeons and Minecraft Legends.

What’s Coming in Minecraft Live 2025?

Mojang dropped a teaser video confirming the event date while giving fans a glimpse of what’s to come. The clip features various mobs dancing to EDM music and hints at upcoming climate-related changes for passive mobs. One standout feature is the flowering cactus, currently available in the Snapshot and Preview builds but not yet in the official game, suggesting it may arrive soon.

Additionally, this year’s event is uniquely tied to the Minecraft Movie, which is set to release on April 4. Given the timing, Minecraft Live 2025 could feature exclusive in-game content related to the film or even limited-time events. Fans should keep an eye on the in-game shop on March 22 for possible time-sensitive game drops.

While the teaser showed Skeletons and Bogged performing the Thriller dance and an Enderman flossing, it’s unlikely these animations will be added to the game. However, considering that Desert biome updates and passive mob changes were heavily featured in the preview, we might see these additions during or shortly after the event. With Minecraft’s Snapshot and Preview builds continuing to receive new content, there’s still room for surprises before the full update. What new features do you hope to see in Minecraft Live 2025?
