A recent Call of Duty: Warzone leak has sparked excitement among fans, suggesting the beloved Verdansk map could return in Season 3. Verdansk, which debuted with Warzone during Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, holds a special place in the hearts of players, and many are eager to explore its iconic locations once again.

The leak comes from prominent Call of Duty insider TheGhostofHope and was shared via Charlie Intel. While details remain unconfirmed, the leaked screenshot showcases a map resembling Verdansk. It’s unclear whether this image comes from datamined files or simply serves as a throwback to the original map. If true, Verdansk’s return would mark a nostalgic moment for players who’ve missed landmarks like the Airport, Boneyard, and City Center, which defined early Warzone gameplay.

Verdansk hasn’t been entirely absent since its removal; a version of the map appeared in Warzone Mobile. However, this iteration excluded console and PC players, leaving many fans longing for a broader reintroduction. While Verdansk ’84 offered a fresh aesthetic, it lacked some original landmarks, like the iconic Gora Dam, making its return in a more authentic form even more enticing.

Timing the Return

If the leak is accurate, Verdansk could reappear in March, aligning with the rumored release of Warzone Season 3. This coincides with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 2’s upcoming launch on January 28 at 9:00 A.M. PT. Season 2 is set to run for 54 days, potentially setting a precedent for Season 3’s arrival in the spring.

Activision and Treyarch continue to support both Warzone and Black Ops 6 with regular updates, including the anticipated Ricochet anti-cheat improvements, new modes, and seasonal events. However, until Activision officially confirms Verdansk’s return, players are encouraged to treat this leak with caution.
