The long-awaited Borderlands 4 is officially launching on September 23, 2025. Publisher 2K confirmed the release date in a brand-new trailer, revealed during the February 12 PlayStation State of Play event. The chaotic, action-packed teaser offers another look at the game’s intense gunplay, acrobatic movement, and explosive battles.

A Full Gameplay Reveal is Coming Soon

Accompanying the trailer, 2K and Gearbox Software announced that a full gameplay showcase is planned for spring 2025. Given the game’s September launch, fans can likely expect this deep dive into gameplay sometime in early to mid-spring. For reference, Borderlands 3 received its major gameplay reveal in May 2019, just a few months before launch.
