1047 Games is keeping the momentum going with Splitgate 2, announcing a new Open Beta coming in May 2025. This follows the game’s successful Open Alpha, which saw high player engagement and positive feedback.
A Successful Open Alpha Fuels the Future
Initially met with skepticism over concerns that Splitgate 2 was shifting toward a hero shooter, the Open Alpha quickly put those fears to rest. 1047 Games reaffirmed its arena shooter core, introducing crouch sliding, a faction system, and other mechanics that enhanced gameplay while staying true to the original formula.

What’s Coming in the Open Beta?
While specifics are still under wraps, 1047 Games teased that the May Open Beta will feature “way more” content than the Alpha. One highly anticipated return is the Glacier Map, which is 20 times larger than any previous Splitgate map and supports the game’s chaotic 8v8v8 mode.With just a couple of months until launch, more details on the Open Beta are expected soon.
